Music Social Network Flowd Updates Apps
post by KM Music and mobile social network, Flowd, celebrates its first birthday. Flowd, which began as a new music social network in Europe, has now arrived in America touting some impressive new features. With a recent update to its mobile applications, the "music lovers' network" is offering up some vital functionality. To start, users can now access the activity of their favorite musicians across multiple social networks. Flowd does this by aggregating the updates from a musician's YouTube, Twitter, Soundcloud and Last.fm accounts into one, centralized location. Follow buttons let users quickly and easily develop a stream of updates from the various musicians they care about, even if the artist is not signed-up on the mobile social network. Sweet.
Another new feature within the mobile apps is scanning. This allows Flowd to scan a user's smartphone to see what music is currently being played or find the last track played. At that point, this information can be posted back to Flowd, Facebook or Twitter (if so desired).
The Flowd mobile music social networking apps are currently available for free on Apple's AppStore, Android Market and Nokia's Ovi. Unfortunately for Nokia device owners, the new updates are only on iOS and Android phones at this time. No word on when this will change.
Do you have a Flowd account? If so, we'd love to hear your thoughts on the social music network. Be sure to leave your thoughts about Flowd and their new mobile apps in the comments section below. Cheers to music and technology.
